LG G3 BEAT Official looks same as LG G3

LG has started global roll out of their 2014 flagship and its available in India at ₹ 46,990. Now LG has launched a smaller and compact version of G3 for those who don’t like big screens, LG G3 Beat.

LG G3 Beat is essentially same as G3 on the outside in design department but with smaller footprint. The major changes are in Internals the display is 5″ 720p thats one-fourth pixels of G3 QuadHD display. The CPU in G3 beat is Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 400 processor 1.2 GHz Quad-Core with Adreno 305.

Theres also 1GB RAM, 8GB Internal Storage and SD Card Expansion slot. The Rear Camera is 8MP with Laser Auto Focus and Front Camera is 1.3MP. The Connectivity options include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS/Glonass, NFC, USB 2.0 and will also sport 4G LTE in select countries.

It will come in three colors which are Metallic Black, Silk White and Shine Gold and special features include Touch & Shoot, Smart Keyboard, QuickMemo+, Gesture Shot. Battery is 2540mAh and expected launch price is around  ₹26,000-28,000.

Nokia X2 to be unveiled on 24th June!

Microsoft the new owner of Nokia is about to launch the sequel to Nokia’s first Android smartphone as Nokia X2 at an event on 24th June.

Nokia X2 is expected to have a 4.3″ WVGA Display, 1.2GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 200 CPU along with 1GB RAM, 4GB of internal storage and microSD slot.

Nokia X2 will also have a 5-megapixel camera alongwith VGA front camera and Dual SIM connectivity along with usual bunch of connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G.

Nokia X2 will run a forked Android version with heavy skinning with Microsoft Software instead of usual Google Apps found in normal Android handsets.

Nokia X2 is expected to be priced at around ₹10,000 and will soon come to India and other South Asian countries.

HTC Desire 816 announced at MWC to go on sale in March

HTC alongwith Desire 610 has also announced Desire 816 which will cater the big screen phablet loving audience. HTC Desire 816 will initially be launched in March in China and then to select markets in April.

HTC Desire 816 has a big 5.5″ inch 720p HD Display and is powered by Android Jellybean with Sense 5.5 and Blinkfeed. It also features similar Snapdragon 400 series quad core processor like Desire 610 but it is clocked higher at 1.6GHz compared to 1.2GHz on Desire 610. It also has 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage with an external storage option by micro-sd card.

HTC Desire 816 features a good 13-megapixel camera along with led flash in back and 5-megapixel fron facing camera which can take decent selfies. It features the regular connectivity options like  Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, 3G, LTE (in select markets) and comes in Red, Green, White and Black color.

HTC Desire 816 will be available in India by end of March or April beginning and is expected to be priced below though actual availability and pricing details are yet undisclosed.

HTC Desire 610 with 4.7-inch qHD display Official

HTC has launched a new midrange Desire Smartphone with 4.7″ display. With launch of new mid range line up HTC will try to bank the popularity of HTC One series in emerging markets.

HTC Desire 610 has a qHD 4.7 inch display and it runs on Android Jellybean with Sense 5.5 UI and Blinkfeed. HTC Desire 610 is powered by Snapdragon 400 series quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM whereas internal storage is just 8GB there is a presence of micro-sd slot for external expansion upto 64GB.

HTC Desire 610 optics are taken care of by 8-megapixel rear camera with led flash and 1.3-megapixel fron camera and has general set of connectivity options like 3G, 2G, LTE(in select markets), NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS along with A-GPS and Glonass.

HTC Desire 610 has a 2040mAH battery which can easily get through a heavy use and it comes in funky color like Blue, Green, Peach and standard colors like white, black and grey.

HTC Desire 610 will be available in 2Q of 2014 and will be priced below Rs 20000 in India though actual availability and pricing details are yet undisclosed.

Samsung Galaxy S5 goes official at MWC 2014

Samsung much awaited flagship of 2014 is finally unveiled at MWC 2014 at Samsung Unpacked 5. Samsung Galaxy S5 is nothing exceptional but has all the features that the competition is offering.

Samsung Galaxy S5 has 5.1″ inch Super Amoled Full HD 1080p display and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat with Samsung Touchwiz UI on top of it. Samsung Galaxy S5 is powered by Snapdragon 800/801/805(Depends on location) series quad core processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and there will be 2.1GHz octa core variant for select countries.

Samsung Galaxy S5 has 2GB RAM which is sufficient for a smartphone but considering Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has 3GB RAM most of the world was on impression that S5 will also have 3GB RAM but in order to keep cost minimal Samsung has chosen to go with 2GB RAM. Samsung Galaxy S5 internal storage options are 16GB/32GB and you get about 7.8GB free storage in 16GB variant though Samsung Galaxy S5 storage can be bumped upto 64GB with micro-sd cards.

Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 16-megapixel camera with new HYBRID AUTOFOCUS technology which determines subject very fast and 2-megapixel front camera. There is whole lot of options as seen in Samsung Galaxy S4 like Drama Shot, Sount and Shot, Selective focus etc. Samsung Galaxy S5 also has NFC, 4G, 3G, WiFi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0+, IR Blaster, GPS, Glonass, a-GPS and a bunch of sensors found in S4 plus built in heart rate sensor and pedometer. Samsung Galaxy S5 has a fingerprint sensor for quick unlock just like iPhone 5S, there is also Samsung special apps like S Health, S Voice, S Translator, etc. Samsung Galaxy S5 has a nano sim slot and comes in four colors electric blue, charcoal black, shimmery white and copper gold.

Samsung Galaxy S5 weighs just 145gms and has 2800mAH battery which is enough to get through a day usage and it is just 8.1mm thick. Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected to launch in April in India and price is still not known but expect it to be above Rs 40000 and below Rs 45000.

Samsung Galaxy S5 is jack of all trades with best in class camera, water resistance, bunch of sensors and fingerprint sensors along with fastest processor on mobiles is in no way inferior to any other flagships. Moreover Samsung flip covers with S-View and Gear compatibility makes it even more compelling.

Dell launches Venue 7 tablet in India priced Rs 10999

Dell after launching tablets in India market has made an entry in Indian Market with the launch of Dell Venue 7 tablet which is priced at Rs 10999

Dell Venue 7 tablet features a 7″ display with a resolution of 1280×800, a dual-core 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 Clover Trail CPU with Intel HD Graphics coupled with 2GB DDR2 RAM and 16GB internal memory, which can be further expanded by micro sd slot upto 32GB.

Dell Venue 7 tablet has a 3MP camera and a VGA front camera for Video Chatting. In terms of connectivity 3G and 2G(optional), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS along with assisted GPS and is just 9.6mm thin.

Dell Venue 7 tablet WiFi only version will cost only Rs 10999 and 3G version will be priced at Rs 13999.
WiFi only model is available to buy starting today from Dell Online Store and will soon be available through croma retail and e-store.

Sony announces Xperia Z1 Compact at CES 2014

 After a lot of leaks and rumours, Sony has finally announced the mini version of its Xperia Z1 smartphone in the form of Xperia Z1 Compact today at CES. Featuring a 4.3-inch 720 HD display just like its Japanese cousin Z1 f, the new smartphone will go on sale beginning next month i.e. February 2014.Sony Xperia Z1 Compact

Xperia Z1 is a no-compromise feature-packed smartphone with a beautiful yet durable design. Sony Xperia Z1 Compact comes with Android 4.3, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 20.7MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The phone is also water and dust resistant and packs 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, LTE and the usual connectivity options.

The camera apps suite, which was present in Z1, is also making its way to Z1 Compact.

The pricing details are not available at this point but the phone will be released in a host of colour options like Lime, Pink, Black and White and expect it to be priced above Rs 30000 in India

Lava Iris 405+ launched with 1.3GHz dual core processor

Lava Mobiles will soon roll out upgraded version of Iris 405 called the Lava Iris 405+. This handset will come powered by 1.3GHz dual core processor and sports a 4 inch screen. The Iris 405 is currently priced at Rs. 5,999 and we expect the Lava Iris 405+ to be priced about the same.
The 405+ is more powerful than its predecessor the Iris 405. There is hardly any difference between these two handsets the 405 comes with 1GHz dual core and the 405+ comes with 1.3GHz dual core (MT6572) with Mali 400 GPU. The 405 will be phased out so in case you are planning to buy this model go for the plus variant.
Iris 405+ is a dual SIM handset running on the Android 4.2 OS. The LCD touch screen is 4 inches supporting resolution of 800×480 pixels. Handset weighs about 127 grams and is 9mm thick. There is 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. 32GB micro SD card is also supported.
There are two camera one of a 5 megapixel resolution (fixed focus) placed on the rear with LED flash and a 0.3 megapixel resolution placed on the front. The rear camera can record videos in 720p resolution.
Its priced at just INR 6999 which is decent considering specification of this phone.

Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 802 and 602A SoC for smart TVs and in car infotainment Intime for CES

Qualcomm has officially taken wraps of its Snapdragon 802 processor that is designed exclusively for streaming 4K content on your televisions. The semi-conductor giant also introduced its Snapdragon 602A chipset to improve the infotainment in cars.

The Snapdragon 802 is a SoC with quad-core CPU that shares a lot with the company’s Snapdragon 800 and 805 mobile processors. Qualcomm’s newest addition comes with a quad-core Krait 1.8 GHz CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, two-stream, dual-band 802.11 ac connectivity, AllJoyn integration and Snapdragon’s studio access content protection feature.

Apart from streaming 4K content on your televisions, the chipset will also bring a much improved app experience, according to Tim McDonough, Qualcomm’s VP of Marketing. The SoC comes with a video processing engine, which converts 1080p content to also Ultra HD content. Snapdragon 802 can be built into both TVs as well as set-top boxes and can be used for multitasking.

On the other hand, the Snapdragon 602A processor focuses on improving the infotainment system in automobiles. The chipset comes with a quad-core Krait CPU and Adreno 320 GPU and features Hexagon DPS, integrated GNSS baseband processing and additional cores for high performance audio, video and communication in cars.

The first of its kind SoC has been designed to meet all the industry standards like temperature, longevity, quality and reliability. Snapdragon 602A is also integrated with Gobi 9×15 multimode 3G/4G LTE connectivity and has VIVE 2-stream, dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth LE 4.0 radios on board.

The first product with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 802 SoC is expected to debut later this year, while the company will start sampling the 600A chipset in cars by the end of first quarter.

Micromax LapTab dual boot Android and Windows 8.1 device announced before CES

Popular budget smartphone brand, Micromax, just announced its entry into a brand new product category. At the Consumer Electronics Show, The company has announced a dual boot tablet that will join its line of products which includes smartphones, tablets and HDTVs.
Called the LapTab, the Micromax product will be powered by an Intel Atom processor. The device will run both Windows 8.1 and Android Jelly Bean so that you can switch between the two depending on your usage requirement. The rest of the specifications are fairly mid range. The processor is clocked at 1.46Ghz and is paired with 2GB of RAM. You also get 32GB of built in storage.
The tablet has a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. You also get a rear facing 2MP camera. There’s still no word on pricing but the Micromax LapTab is expected to go on sale starting next month and will be retail with a wireless keyboard. The dual boot tablet category is an interesting entry for the indigenous brand and should provide an interesting balance between productivity and entertainment applications. We’ll have more on the product once we get our hands on it. The price is estimated to be below RS 25000
